After the loss of the Post Office, Little Hallingbury community joined forces and together with advice and funding from Essex County Council, RCCE and Essex Community Foundation reopened this essential service. Opened on 17th November 2008 it soon developed into a central hub for the village.

The Post Office is funded by the Parish Council. The profits from the shop go towards the running costs of the Post Office.

About 30 volunteers help to run the shop. The shop has a large range of products from general grocery, fresh eggs, cakes, stationary, cards and lots more.

It is a focal point for sharing village news and getting to know people.

The Post Office is open Monday - Thursday 8.30 - 12 noon, and in addition the shop is open  Friday 8.30 - 12noon and Saturday 10am - 12 noon
